iMove Chicago participated in the Loyola Student Housing Fair yesterday and we can say without equivocation that it was a resounding success. We had a great time talking with students about the Chicago apartment options in Andersonville, Rogers Park, Uptown, Evanston near the Loyola Lake Shore Campus and in the Golf Coast, Streeterville, Loop, Downtown, and South Loop areas near the Lake Shore Drive Campus. The turn out at the student housing fair was great. We spoke with over 150 students and are anxious to get started on their custom housing search. If you missed the fair and still need housing services, please feel free to contact an iMove Chicago agent or visit our site at iMoveChicago.com. We look forward to hearing from you and perhaps we will have the opportunity to talk with you soon about your Chicago apartments rental search.
I know, this is not a topic that anyone lies to discuss or think about. But, the fact of the matter is that bed bug infestation is on the rise in Chicago and many other cities. If you have ever encountered the nasty creatures you know what a menace they are. Better to be prepared and knowledgeable.
Chicago has a site that offers information. Check it out here.
Additionally, the Association of Sheridan Road Condominiums will be conducting a seminar on the topic on February 16, 2012 at 7pm at the Park Tower Condominium located at 5415 N Sheridan. Word is that "Scout" a bed bug sniffing dog will make a special appearance.
If you live in Andersonville, Edgewater, Rogers Park or Uptown, this is a great opportunity to come out and get informed on a very important topic. No one relishes the thought of these parasites infiltrating Chicago apartments. iMove is happy to keep you informed on the topics that matter.
The CTA and i-Go have a deal for you. Join i-Go for the discounted rate of only $15 and you will receive a $50 transit credit from the CTA. What a deal. If you are not familiar with i-Go this is a great time to check them out. They have cars located throughout Chicago with plenty located in Uptown, Edgewater, Andersonville and Rogers Park. The deal is even more attractive when you consider that gas prices in Chicago are estimated to rise to $5 a gallon this summer. When you rent an i-Go car, the gas is included in the hourly rental price - usually in the $8-11 range. You save ig bucks when you consider that you also do not pay for parking, maintenance, insurance, car washes, etc. Check out i-Go.
Also, remember, if you are an i-Go member, iMove Chicago offers a $50 credit toward any apartment that you apply for. Simply show your i-Go card at the time of application.
Beginning today, it will cost you an extra quarter to park in Edgewater and Andersonville. Chicago Parking Meters is raising the rates to park across the city, with the steepest hikes coming in the downtown Loop area. There, rates will increase to $5.75/hour during peak hours (8AM – 9PM) while the area outside of the Loop, from Halsted to the Lake, North Avenue to Roosevelt, rates will increase to $3.50/hour.
The transition to the new rates will take some time, as meters need to be adjusted manually. The new rates will be implemented in the Loop first, and make their way outward into the neighborhoods, with the entire transition being completed during January. As the transition moves forward, motorists are only responsible for paying the posted rate on the meters and only the posted rates on each meter/pay box will be enforced.
